Prof. (Dr.) Amit Hajela is an Architect Urban Designer, IGBC Accredited Faculty, Academician and Researcher, Urbanist involved in Professional Practice and Consultancy for the last 35 years in the disciplines of Architecture, Interior and Urban Design, having designed and executed over 145 projects besides his Academic Association and Research. Contributions. He is a Fellow of the Indian Institute of Architects (FILA), Fellow/Founding Member of institute of Urban Designers India (FIUD), Member of Indian Institute of Interior Designers, Institute of Hospital Engineering, Life Member-Indian Confederation for Healthcare Accreditation, Expert Member on behalf of Council of Architecture and former National Secretary of Institute of Urban Designers India. He has won limited Architectural Design Competitions and has been a Professional Advisor for several Design Competitions and Jury Member for National Architectural Awards organized by Samsung, ITP Media and IDAC
His professional work profile includes a variety of projects with core areas of work being Urban Design, Campus Design and Planning, Institutional Buildings/Housings for Higher Education Segment, Healthcare Facility Planning, Corporate Offices, Interiors, Auditoriums/AV Integration etc. He specializes in Campus Design & Planning having planned and redeveloped campuses in Public and Private Sector, with a focus on Sustainable Design and Green Campuses. Dr. Amit Hajela is currently a Visiting Professor at the School of Planning and Architecture (An Institute of National Importance under the Act of Parliament- MOE-Govt. of India), New Delhi. He is the Former Director and Domain Head of Architecture, Planning and Design, Amity University, Noida; Former Director of College of Architecture, Vastu Kala Academy GGSIPU, New Delhi, and Former Adjunct Professor, Dept. of Architecture and Planning, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He has a teaching experience of over 33 years, having contributed to the development of Curricula, Teaching Learning Processes for the Undergraduate, Graduate and Doctoral programs, besides introduction of niche programs in Architecture, Planning and Design in line with NEP 2020, thereby making significant contribution to Academics and Research besides Professional Practice. He is a recognized Ph.D. Advisor and has guided Eight Research Scholars at SPA-D and Amity University. He has over 40 Publications at National and International level to his credit and has delivered several Keynote Addresses in areas of his specialization.
