I, Darukesh S Maganahalli, am a Civil Engineer with 31 years of experience in Real Estate Industry. After completing my bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1992 from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore, I moved to Mumbai where my career as a civil engineer started.
I started my career with Unity Constructions as a Project Engineer in 1992 and completed two residential projects of 7 story for MHADA at Oshiwara, before moving to M/s Raheja Universal Pvt Ltd in 1996.
At Raheja Universal, I independently completed a 16-story tower, a high-end project Regency Terraces at Upmarket Khar-Bandra area of Mumbai and got promoted to Procurement division in 2001. As a procurement Manager, I have contributed significantly to reduction of project cost through introduction of new materials and alternative materials/methods such as establishing RMC batching plants and fly ash bricks manufacturing units at sites to optimize costing.
I moved to Bombay Realty in 2011 and worked there as Head-Procurement and handled high end finishing for residential towers at the project Island City Center.
In 2013, I joined my current organization, S D Corporation (Group company of Shapoorji & Pallonji Real Estate) as Head- Contracts & procurement. Here, I have endeavored to bring international construction techniques such as PERI & DOKA form works to reduce construction time and bring predictable quality into construction. I also used slipform technology to expedite 60 storey construction.
I was promoted as Head -Operations in 2018 to lead entire operations at S D Corporation including contracts, procurement, budgeting & planning. So far as Head operations, I Have completed ultra luxurious apartments project Imperial Edge and handed over 800 premium apartments and 1250 rehab units at Sarova, Kandivali project.
Currently I am leading three major projects Sienna, Auburn at Kandivali east and Canvas at Sewri and Imperial T5 at Tardeo with an overall construction area of approximately 35 lac sft.
