Ar. Gurpreet Singh Shah is a highly accomplished architect, urban planner, and infrastructure expert with over two decades of experience shaping the built environment at both national and international levels. Currently serving as the Managing Director and Principal Architect at Creative Group LLP, New Delhi, he has led a range of transformative projects across aviation, mass transit, institutional campuses, urban infrastructure, and commercial developments. A graduate of Sushant School of Architecture (2001) and holder of a Master of Science in Urban Design from Columbia University (2004), he began his career in New York with Beyer Blinder Belle, contributing to campus planning for institutions such as Indiana University and Princeton University. His collaborative work with distinguished architects like the late Ar. Fredric Schwartz helped refine a bold, inclusive, and sustainability-driven design ethos. Under his leadership, Creative Group has delivered over 55 airport terminals—including Chennai International Airport and key terminals in Vadodara, Raipur, Goa, Ahmedabad, Agartala, Bhubaneshwar, and Gwalior—and played a defining role in the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, inaugurated by Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi. The firm has also secured competitions for more than 45 railway stations, ports, and major transit-oriented developments. A passionate advocate of sustainable infrastructure, Mr. Shah has spearheaded the Net Zero campus master plan for IIT Jodhpur, housing for TERI and LIC, and energy-efficient offices for OIL India Ltd. and Haryana Power Generation Corporation. His global portfolio includes projects like the Gabon Airport, the Centre of Excellence in Rwanda, and India’s first urban ropeway in Varanasi. With a strong commitment to design integrity, budget alignment, and timely delivery, Mr. Shah has earned numerous accolades including the FICCI Best Infrastructure Award (2019), Bharat Gaurav Samman at the UK Parliament, and a feature in the Limca Book of Records. Earlier honors include the IIA (NC) Design Award and the prestigious William Kenne Fellowship at Columbia University. His thought leadership continues to be featured in prominent journals such as Architecture + Design, IFJ, NBM&CW, and Ace Update, as he contributes to the discourse on India’s infrastructure evolution in support of Viksit Bharat 2047.
