Milind Deore is a distinguished expert in energy conservation/efficiency and energy transition with over 24 years of experience. As the Secretary of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, he has been instrumental in implementing the Energy Conservation Act policies/ programs across industrial, domestic and commercial sectors. Milind has spearheaded numerous national-level programs, including the Perform Achieve & Trade (PAT) Scheme, Demand Side Management Programs in Agriculture/Municipal, DISCOMs & MSMEs, and Standard & labelling of appliances significantly advancing India’s energy efficiency efforts.
He has successfully led Project Management Units for GEF-funded programs through UNIDO and the World Bank, benefiting small and medium enterprises across 100-plus industrial clusters.
He has fostered international cooperation with countries like Japan, France and Germany enhancing global energy efficiency collaboration.
His academic credentials include an M. Tech in Energy Management from IIT Mumbai, an MBA in Finance from PUMBA, and a B. Tech in Chemical Engineering from UDCT Maharashtra. Milind is a Certified Energy Auditor by BEE, Govt. of India, and has contributed to several publications and guidelines on energy conservation for various sectors. His leadership and expertise continue to drive significant advancements in energy efficiency and sustainability.
