Samhita M has been in the green and sustainability space for over 20 years and is an ardent advocate of sustainable living.
She has been recognized by Niti Ayog as Women Empowering Lifestyles for Environment ‘WeLife’ and also awarded the Telangana State Energy Conservation Award in recognition of her contribution towards energy conservation practices in the State.
She is the Founder, Director at Ela Green Buildings & Infrastructure Consultants founded in 2009. Over the last sixteen years, she has trained more than 10,000 professionals in the field of energy efficiency in buildings and green buildings. She has also consulted for more than 1000 projects on energy efficiency and green building services. She works extensively with various State Govts and Central Govt on Policy for Sustainable Built Environment.
Towards her passion for education and sustainability, She founded Ela Green School in 2018 in Chennai with the prime focus of sowing seeds of sustainability in children at an early age. Today Ela Green School is IB authorized, IB Continuum World School and caters to more than 600 students. Under her leadership, Ela Green School has received the prestigious Arrignar Anna Award (First place) for Environmental Education from the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
